A new Weekend College offering new non-traditional education opportunities is coming to Nashville this fall.
Nashville State Community College’s North Davidson campus is launching the new college beginning Aug. 25 for the upcoming fall semester. The goal is to expand access to “flexible, career‑focused education for working adults, parents, and students.” Students will be able to obtain degrees through Saturday-only in-person classes, as well as some Friday classes and online coursework.
The development is part of the college’s effort to expand educational access and boost graduation success, as well as prepare students for life after graduation.
“Whether you’re starting college for the first time, a continuing student, returning after many years, or looking to advance your career, Weekend College is designed to help you upskill quickly, conveniently, and affordably,” North Davidson Campus Director Dr. Justina Rogers said. “Nashville State is committed to meeting students where they are and helping them reach their goals.”
Programs Offered
The Weekend College will begin with three academic pathways: an Associate of Science (AS) and Associate of Arts in Social Work, an Administrative Assistant Certificate, and a Retail Management Certificate.
More than a dozen other classes will be available, including Administrative Professional Technology, Biology, Business, Communications, English, and more. Class schedules will be posted on nscc.edu’s class finder webpage.
